Where Actors & Directors TRAIN for
the Screen in the 21st Century*

Stonestreet Studios is a film & screen acting school as well as a producing organization located in the Flatiron District of midtown Manhattan in New York City. The Stonestreet Screen Acting Workshop ("SSAW"), an integral part of our organization, is an advanced drama conservatory of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Drama Department. Our mission is to TRAIN actors in the art of screen and film acting - something markedly different than stage acting - by transcending previously learned techniques within an environment of a working production company that draws on the SSAW student body and the professional community to create filmed entertainment in all it's genres

Ashlie Atkinson is an award-winning theatre, film, and television actress, and a 2003 graduate of the Neightborhood Playhouse. In 2005 she received the Theatre World Award for Breakthrough Performance for originating the role of Helen in Neil Labute's "Fat Pig"(opposite Jeremy Piven) -- a portrayal which also garnered her Outer Critics' Circle and Lucille Lortel nominations. Television and film credits include Denis Leary's critically-acclaimed Rescue Me, 3lbs, Spike Lee's Inside Man, Another Gay Movie, Sex and The City -- The Movie, Margot at The Wedding, Law & Order, Law &Order: Criminal Intent, Puccini for Beginners, and Filthy Gorgeous. MTV fans may recognize Ashlie as her hip-hop alter ego, "Chunky Pam", a plus-size rap diva and YouTube viral phenom. After appearing opposite Debra Jo Rupp in SecondStage's "Butcher of Baraboo", she made her Broadway debut as Vivian Proclo in Terrence McNally's The Ritz (starring Rosie Perez). Ashlie is a proud member of both the Bridge Theatre Company and Gotham Girls Roller Derby (where she skates under the name Margaret Thrasher, Prime Minister of Your Demise). Ashlie has performed in several installments of TheATrainPlays as well as the 24-Hour Plays on Broadway and the 24-Hour Musicals at Joe's Pub, and this past year she's worked on six feature films opposite actors such as Jessica Alba, Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Ricky Gervais.
