The Stonestreet Screen Acting Workshop Summer Intensive is a full 8 point or professional (non-credit) semester, covering film and television training from the audition process to performance and production. All areas of film and television acting are covered: film (dramatic & comedic), dramatic series, sit-coms, multi-camera: soaps, commercials, as well as vocal and physical work as it applies to film acting and character. Our Intensive Film & TV Audition Technique Class prepares students for the twice-per-week Showcase Class where students have an opportunity to perform and receive feedback from professional agents and casting directors as well as make valuable connections in the industry while receiving feedback that actors do not normally have access to in the professional world.. Students train in the environment of Stonestreet's 6,000 square-foot film and television studio which is full production and post-production facility. During the course, students learn to adapt and apply their previously learned techniques as well as learn where film acting departs from what can be done on the stage. Stonestreet's website at www.stonestreetstudios.com includes schedules, pdf brochure, faculty bios, updates on working alumni and the Stonestreet Gazette, that features articles about our collaboration with the Tisch Film & TV Department, Webseries, and Tisch Dramatic Writing Department. All Stonestreet student work culminates in production experience allowing students to apply their training and make the leap to professional and performance level work, connecting with both the magical (and sometimes technical) world of filmmaking, the camera and the audience. Stonestreet's film projects, scenes, commercials and pilots are showcased and can be viewed at www.stonestreetmovies.com . Students are encouraged to take the Stonestreet Screen Acting Workshop II (second semester) either in the second summer session, fall, spring or subsequent summer to continue their training and be featured in our webseries www.the47thfloor.com, original film shorts and pilots that are specially selected and written for them by the Tisch Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing Program while doing advanced audition, showcase and some voice-over work. Scheduling an in-person interview or phone interview is highly recommended via email arb@stonestreet.pro or phone, 212-229-0020.
Classes held at 48 West 21st Street, 8th Floor (between 5th and 6th Avenues)
Scheduling an in-person interview or phone interview is highly recommended with Alyssa Bennett, Artistic Director, arb@stonestreet.pro, or Jason Eiland, Director of Operations, at 212-229-0020.
